Main Street Cultural District Designation Would Bring Grants to City

The Marlborough Village Association is in the process of trying to designate Main Street as a cultural district.

Many in Marlborough may not have heard of the Marlborough Downtown Village, but if they get their way that is about to change.

The and the Marlborough Economic Development Corporation are working hand-in-hand with Mary Scott, Downtown Village's chairperson. 

“It’s a positive move for the city to designate an area because we have so many cultural and arts events. We have a beautiful Main Street,’’ Morreale-Leeber said to the Globe, and the designation “will encourage more people to come downtown.’’

The group is scheduled to ask and the City Council to apply for the cultural district designation by the end of this week.
