Gas Prices Still on the Rise in Marlborough

The latest survey from AAA New England says that the average price for a tank of regular unleaded gas has risen once again. 

After a late fall filled with dropping prices, the local average is up to $3.42, according to a price list on Mapquest.com. 

That is approximately one cent lower than the statewide average, which AAA reported Monday as being $3.429. This is the fifth consecutive week of increased prices. 

"The national average is $3.38 a gallon," AAA Southern New England said as reported in the Boston Globe. "A year ago at this time, the Massachusetts average price was $3.10 a gallon." 

Members of the chain discount club BJ's on the Marlborough/Hudson line are paying several cents below the current average, as of Monday.
