City Officials Move to Fill Vacant School Committee Position

City officials have set a date to fill a role left vacant in July.

City officials are moving forward to fill a vacancy in the School Committee left by the resignation of Margaret M. Dwyer.

Dwyer's term runs through December 31, 2015. She resigned on July 9, leaving a joint meeting of the City Council and School Committee to fill the role until the next election. The two committees will meet on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at City Hall.

A candidate must receive a nomination and second from two of the 18 officials and a majority vote. Those interested in the position may submit a cover letter and resume to the mayor's office through mberry@marlborough-ma.gov.

Candidates should submit their information no later than Sept. 5.
