Brown Supporters Cite Bipartisan Ability

His ability to walk the line between both parties was cited by residents as a key factor for their support of Scott Brown during an appearance he made at Main Street Cafe Tuesday.

"I like him because he is independent," said  Cindy Dwyer. "I want a senator who can cross over with the Democrats as well as the Republicans."

Dwyer was among a packed house of dozens of Sen. Brown supporters at the cafe. She was in attendance with three friends and said she has supported Sen. Brown since he first ran.

"I haven't always agreed with him but I trust him," said Dwyer.

Stephen Hitner, of Metrowest Printing, said that Sen. Brown is receptive to the needs of local businesses that are being stifled by a lack of borrowing opportunities from banks.

"The fact he is able to go across party lines is critical to the success of our country," said Hitner.

Sen. Brown addressed the crowd, saying he has been to the city many times and is thus able to represent it down in Washington.

"They have the confidence I have been working hard for the city of Marlborough," said the senator.

That connection and bipartisanship allows him to get things done, said Randy Scott, who owns the Main Street Cafe with his wife Mary.

"People that are party oriented tend not to get things done," he said.

The incumbent senator faces Elizabeth Warren in the November 6 election.
