5 Things You Should Know Today: Aug. 5

Here is a list of things going on in and around Marlborough today.

1. No surprises today with a high of 77 degrees and partly-sunny skies, says the National Weather Service

2. The Arts Alliance and the River's Edge Players will perform Seussical at Hudson High School auditorium, 69 Brigham St., this Friday at 7:30 p.m. Tickets sell from $8 to $14. 

3. With the first day of school around the corner, families in the Marlborough-area are getting back to their fall routine. To celebrate this time of year,  has announced that it will host the 2nd Annual “Back At It!” which will be held on Saturday, August 13, from noon to 3 p.m. This back-to-school weekend of activities and savings, and is perfect for families and kids of all ages.

4. While I haven't checked out the veracity of this event myself, there is supposedly a farmer's market (the Marlborough Farmers Market) held near the corner of Bolton St. & Rte. 20 in a Parking Lot, (July through September) every Thursday from 2 to 6 p.m. Have you been?

5. The Arts Alliance and the City of Marlborough will present the Kosmic Lighthouse Band Saturday morning from 11 a.m. to noon. The band will perform a family friendly mix of Americana, traditional, pop, rock, folk and blues. The band, from nearby Rhode Island, plays something for everyone, no matter what age! Free.
