5 Things You Need To Know Today: June 24

Here is a list of things going on in and around Marlborough today.

1. There is a chance of showers before 11 a.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., then showers likely after 1 p.m., says the National Weather Service. Expect patchy fog and a high of 64 degrees.

2. The Better Business Bureau office in Marlborough recently warned that they receive thousands of complaints each year from consumers who have unknowingly purchased multi-year magazine subscriptions. Unscrupulous telemarketers sometimes trick consumers into paying hundreds of dollars for multi-year subscriptions to magazines they don't want or can't afford. The BBB warns that deceptive door-to-door magazine sales crews are hitting the pavement and looking to earn a quick buck this summer. Here is how to deal with them.

3. Plan ahead now — Tuesday, June 28 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. join the Marlborough Chamber of Commerce for the MEGA MIXER presented by Chamber Alliance & BNI at the Sheraton Hotel, Route 9 in Framingham. The cost is $15 per person in advance; $20 at the door; register atwww.bnimass.org/events.
