3 Things You Missed at City Council

From a conservation grant to the resolution of a law suit; here are the three things you missed at the City Council meeting Monday night.

While the City Council spent time discussing the merits of overlay districts, there were a number of other items on the agenda.

  • The council voted to accept a $12,000 Conservation Acceptance Grant from Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation. This grant has been received by the city before but increased recently.
  • Marlboro Nissan, abutters and the council have come to an agreement on an expansion of a driveway on city-owned property. The council approved the expansion at their meeting Monday following the resolution of a lawsuit brought against the dealership by abutters.
  • A 25 year lease between the Assabet Valley Collaborative and the City of Marlborough for the Bigelow School has been put to the operations and oversight committee of the council for discussion. The collaborative would be responsible for any and all maintenance and capital improvement expenses for the duration of the lease.
