Woman "Trying Out Tires" Charged with 3rd OUI

Screeching tires drew police attention and spurred the arrest of a Marlborough woman recently.

A Marlborough woman was arrested and charged with OUI in Sudbury after "testing" her new tires.

According to Lt. Scott Nix, an officer on patrol who was monitoring traffic on Union Avenue in Sudbury on March 15 heard screeching tires and observed a white SUV exiting Station Road on to Union Avenue toward his location.

"A motor vehicle stop was initiated at the Mobil station and the officer contacted the operator about the tires," Nix said. "The operator said, 'I have new tires and I was trying them out.'"
