Woman Charged with Driving Under Influence of Cocaine
Police arrested the woman following a single-car accident.
Police arrested a Marlborough woman this week after she allegedly crashed her car while under the influence of both alcohol and cocaine.
"Upon speaking with Katrina I noticed her speech was slurred, and she was having trouble completing sentences," wrote Marlborough Police Officer Scott Carey.
Police responded Wednesday to the area of Naugler Avenue for a report of a single car hitting a tree and the airbag deploying. Police found the driver, Katrina E. Jarvis, 23, of 148 Barnard Road, in her brother's house where she had walked to after the accident. As police spoke with her, they determined she was under the influence of alcohol, according to court documents. It had been 15 minutes since the accident, according to the police report.
When police searched the car, according to court records, they found a straw and bags that contained residue of a white powdery substance they identified as cocaine.
"All of the corner bags were now empty and had been used at some point in time," wrote Carey.
Jarvis was arrested on charges of operating under the influence of liquor, operating under the influence of drugs, marked lanes violation, class B drug possession and leaving the scene of property damage. She was released on personal recognizance Thursday.
