Wareham Police Arrest Suspect in Berlin Road Stabbings

The Wareham Police Department has made an arrest related to the in Marlborough. 

Shortly before 11 a.m., the Wareham Police in conjunction with SEMLEC SWAT responded to the Silver Lake Motel, 3126 Cranberry Hwy. in Wareham, where they arrested without incident Joseph Nsubuga, 22, of 24A Second St., Framingham.  

Described by police at the time of the incident as a house party gone wrong, Nsubuga is suspected to be the individual that left two women with life-threatening stab wounds. A male was also assaulted with a handgun in the altercation at 399 Berlin Road. 

Prior to the Wednesday morning arrest, Marlborough Police had put out a call for the public's help in locating a suspect. 

Nsubuga was located after Wareham patrolman Stephen Kearney randomly ran his license plate outside the hotel around 7 a.m. 

The results of Kearney's query revealed warrants on two counts of Assault with Intent to Murder and Mayhem.

Due to the suspect's reported dangerousness, Wareham police asked for the assistance of SEMLEC SWAT, and after confirming that Nsubuga was inside a hotel room, he was arrested without incident. 

As of Nsubuga's booking in Wareham, no evidence pertaining to the Marlborough incident had been uncovered, said police. 

Nsubuga will face charges in and further investigation of this matter will be conducted by the Marlborough Police. 

Wareham Police Chief Richard M. Stanley praised the alertness of his officers, and said, "that there will be no tolerance for (criminal) acts, and that Wareham will not be a 'safe haven' for criminals."
