UPDATED: Police Identify Marlborough Crash Victim

The Massachusetts State Police were at the scene Thursday of another fatal accident on 495N in Marlborough.

UPDATED, Friday morning: State police have identified the victim as Donald B. Schwendenman, 70, of Milford.

ORIGINAL STORY: For the second time in less than a week, police and fire crews are again dealing with the aftermath of a fatal accident on 495 North. 

Police say that a preliminary investigation has revealed that a 70-year-old Milford man has been killed in a roll-over crash in the vicinity of Exit 23C (Simarano Drive). The driver, whose name was not released Thursday night, pending notification of his family, was operating a a 2001 Ford Ranger pickup when he drifted onto the grassy median, then was able to return to the roadway before driving back  onto the median and rolling the truck down an embankment, said a release from State Police.

Officers responded at 7:47 p.m. and  found the truck resting on its tires. The operator was pronounced dead at the scene. 

"The crash remains under investigation by Troop C of the Massachusetts State Police with the assistance of the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section," said the release. "Troopers were assisted at the scene by the and the Highway Division of the Department of Transportation."
