UPDATED: Two Local Men Shoot Up Church Street Home with BB Gun

Police responded Thursday afternoon to a report of vandalism in a local neighborhood, and ended up arresting two young men on assault charges. The both have been released on $250 bail.

A Church St. resident was terrorized Thursday afternoon by a neighbor and another Marlborough man who shot up their property with an air rifle. 

The received a call complaining of vandalism around 4 p.m. on Thursday. An officer responded to the scene at 99 Church St., and spoke with the reporting party at which time he was shown evidence of vandalism, including several holes in the front of the home, and damage to a vehicle apparently cause by a BB gun or air rifle, said Detective Martha Shea, of the MPD. 

While taking the reporting party's statement, the officer heard the report of more shots coming from outdoors, and discovered additional signs of vandalism.

"The officer heard that the shots had come from across the street. He asked the resident to go back inside, and then went across the street and identified two males as having fired the shots," said Shea.

The two men, Zachary S. Lodi, 27, of 100 Church St., and Richard J. Kenny, 27, of 213 Elm St., were both arrested and charged with vandalizing property, assault with a dangerous weapon, and firing a BB gun/air rifle in a way (street). See the Police Log .

Marlborough District Court Clerk Paul Malloy said Kenny had each been released on $250 bail and Lodi on personal recognizance. Kenny is due back in court for a pretrial hearing Friday, March 11, and Lodi Tuesday, March 15.
