Three House Break-Ins Spur Call for Vigilance

Three break-ins Thursday morning have prompted a call for vigilance from police and city officials.

Police are seeking information on three break-ins that occured Thursday morning.

There were three house breaks in the Elm St. and Millham St. area of the city," said Marlborough Police Chief Mark F. Leonard in a press release. "If you saw someone on foot or saw a vehicle that was unfamiliar to you in the area, please call us to report what you saw, even if you think it may not be significant."

The homes were unoccupied at the time of the break-ins, he said. They occurred between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.

It is unclear whether these break-ins are related to previous daytime robberies that occurred in Marlborough and Northborough, said Leonard. No one has been arrested in relation to those previous break-ins, he said.

“We truly don’t know," said Leonard on whether they were related. “We don’t have enough information right now to say one way or another.”

In addition to calling if anyone has information about activities surrounding those break-ins, police are urging residents to be extra vigilant of their own neighborhoods.

"We are also asking that you remain vigilant for any suspicious persons or vehicles in your neighborhoods, and to call the Marlborough Police Department immediately at 508-485-1212, ext. 0  if you notice anything suspicious," said Leonard.
