Three Arrested for Alleged Scheme to Get Drugs

Three people were arrested in a shoplifting scheme in Marlborough.

Three people were recently arrested a shoplifting scheme to use stolen goods to get drugs.
"Patrick advised me that him, Brooke and Dyan has been returning items for cash so he could use the cash to buy drugs," said Marlborough Police Officer Soren Levenson in his police report of a conversation he had with Patrick A. Sbordone Jr., 30, of 75 Washington Street Apt. 1 in Hudson. 
On Wednesday, police arrested Brooke Michelle Lombardi, 26, of 75 Washington St. Apt. 1 in Hudson, Dyan C. Chopelas, 37, of 72 A Chestnut Street along with Sbordone at JC Penney on Donald J. Lynch Boulevard. Police were informed by a loss prevention officer at the store that the group had been running a scam over the past few weeks at the location.
"[The loss prevention officer] stated that one female party will enter the store and conceal merchandise, exit without paying and the other party will enter the store with the merchandise and return it," wrote Soren in his police report which stated the group had been given a $264.98 gift card for returned merchandise on the day they were arrested.
All three were charged with larceny over $250 and conspiracy.
