State Police Investigating Lifeflight Bicycle Accident
The circumstances around the accident will be reconstructed using data from the scene.
The Massachusetts State Police Accident Reconstruction Team was brought in Thursday to determine the circumstances surrounding an accident that sent a bicyclist to the hospital in a helicopter in the morning.
“They’re just investigating the crash and how the crash occurred, whether that is skid marks and breaking and locations of the debri after the crash," said Marlborough Police Det. Scott DeCiero.
Witness statements were handled by the Marlborough Police, he said, but the number crunching approach examining evidence at the scene will be handled by state police. He could not give an estimate on how long it would take for the state's investigation to be completed.

The bicyclist collided with a box truck at approximately 7:18 a.m. and was then lifeflighted to UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester.
