Resident Arrested on 5th OUI Held Without Bail

A North Bigelow Street woman found herself before a judge in Monday, Jan. 23 after breaking into a neighbor's home in order to steal money. Shirley Souza, 35, of 763 North Bigelow St., after an attempted robbery on the evening of Saturday, Jan. 21. She was captured by Marlborough police officers after she left a trail of footprints back in to her own residence in a fresh layer of snow. Souza was released on her own recognizance and is scheduled to return to court for a pretrial hearing Friday, March 16. 

James E. Hill, 42, of 80 Williams St., offense after being pulled over by a Marlborough police officer on the evening of Sunday, Jan. 29, after the officer noticed him driving erratically and breaking several traffic laws. Hill, according to court records, admitted to drinking multiple beers, then failed several field sobriety tests. He then asked the officer for a ride home, but was instead arrested. Police found that Hill has a long criminal history spanning several states. He was held without bail after an appearance in Marlborough District Court the following day. A status hearing will be held Friday, March 2.
