Police Officers Assaulted over Weekend

Marlborough police officers were assaulted early Saturday morning when two people allegedly resisted arrest.

One officers was struck in the chest and another on the arm when two people allegedly resisted arrest early Saturday morning.

Police were called to 178 Boston Post Road East for a reported disturbance at 1:17 a.m. Police found Michael Kieft, 36, of 79 Londonderry Road in Grafton and Tracy Davis, 42, of 25 Vinal Street in Hudson allegedly trying to break into an apartment building, according to Detective Scott DeCiero of the Marlborough Police Community Services Bureau.

“They were trying to gain access into an apartment building and they caused a disturbance," he said.

When officers approached the pair, they were found to be intoxicated, said Det. DeCiero.

"They became disruptive and the officers tried to control them and they refused," he said.

Police arrested the pair and charged them with assault and battery on a police officer, disturbing the peace and resisting arrest. Kieft was also charged with negligent operation of a motor vehicle, operating a vehicle with a revoked license and operating under the influence. Davis was also charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon for kicking an officer, said Det. DeCiero.

The officers were not hurt in the incident, he said.
