Police Officer Assault Follows Argumentative Traffic Stop

A traffic stop resulted in charges of assault and battery on a police officer Monday.

“During that time the operator continued to argue with the officer and then he purposefully and violently struck the officer in the chest with his left shoulder," said Det. Scott DeCiero of the Community Services Bureau of the Marlborough Police Department.

The officer had pulled over Adrian DeJesus, 20, of 688 Boston Post Road East Apt. 323 for having no inspection sticker and no front plate on Monday at 4:57 p.m. on Boston Post Road East in the area of Victoria Lane. From there, according to police, DeJesus became argumentative.

“The operator of the vehicle became argumentative with the officer and began reaching around in the vehicle," said Det. DeCiero of DeJesus.

At that point, the officer requested for DeJesus to exit the vehicle and that is when he allegedly pushed his shoulder into the officer. The officer was not injured in the incident, reported DeCiero.

DeJesus was charged with assault and battery on a police officer, no inspection sticker and a number plate violation.
