Police Log: Northborough Man Charged in Kidnapping for Extortion of Ex-Girlfriend

Monday, Jan. 27

9:46 a.m.: A theft was reported at Hampton Inn on Boston Post Road West.

9:49 a.m.: A theft was reported at an apartment on Farm Road.

1:39 p.m.: A domestic disturbance was reported at an apartment on Broad Street.

4:35 p.m.: Police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at Hunt's Mobil on West Main Street. According to a police spokesman, a woman was being held against her will by an ex-boyfriend, but had been able to get out of the car at the station. The pair had left Longmeadow together, and she agreed to that, but while on the Mass Pike, the man had reportedly demanded money for gas and held her in the vehicle against her will, said Det. Scott Deceiro. The woman told the suspect an acquaintance would meet them at Hunt's Mobil to provide the money. Once there, she escaped. Police arrested Michael Joseph Rabideau, 22, of 23 Cold Harbor Dr., Northborough, on charges of kidnapping for extortion, intimidating a witness, assault and threatening to commit a crime.
