Police Investigating Rash of Car Robberies off Stevens St.

Residents are urged to keep cars locked at all times.

Over the course of the day on Sunday, the fielded at least a half-dozen calls reporting breaking and entering into vehicles around several neighborhoods off Stevens St. 

"We are aware of the robberies and are still investigating them," said Detective Scott DeCiero. "We are not sure at this time if it was one person or several as we do not have any suspects yet."

Thefts were reported at 30 Reservoir St., 21 Oakcrest St., 137 Cullinane Dr., 58 Barrett Rd., 68 Upland Rd. and 13 Beauregard Cir. Only the Reservoir St. theft is outside the grouping of the rest, but was easily accessible by driving a short distance down Red Spring Rd.

Each of the robberies mentioned took place at some point Saturday evening into Sunday morning, said Police. 

DeCiero said the he believes that the vehicles were unlocked when they were robbed, and items stolen included GPS units and iPods.

"Anything that the perp saw in plain view was taken," he said. "Residents are urged to keep their doors locked at all times." 

Though there are no suspects at this time, police are working towards getting a break in the case. 

"Hopefully a witness will come forward," concluded DeCiero.
