Police Capture Armed Robbery Suspects, Go Free on Bail/Recognizance

The Marlborough Police Department captured two suspects Friday evening after they robbed a local business at gunpoint.

After the responded to an armed robbery 911 call at Friday evening, two men were identified and captured nearby. Those men faced a judge on Monday; one of them is now free and the other has had bail set at $500 pending a status hearing, reports the MetroWest Daily News.

Shortly after 10 p.m. Friday evening, police received a call from the clerk at Tedeschi's stating that the store had been robbed. 

"Two individuals went into the Chestnut Street store and robbed it of alcohol," said Detective Martha Shea. "They were caught nearby (on Chestnut St.) shortly afterwards when officers saw two individuals that matched the description."

Stephen M. Moore, 19, of 1062 Belmont Street, Apt. #1, Watertown, and Andre J. Stone, 20, of 79 Broadmeadow Rd. Apt. 3., were arrested by police and charged with armed robbery, possessing liquor under the age of 21 and conspiracy. Police said Moore was carrying the gun when police caught up with the suspects, and he was additionally charged with assault and battery, and assault with a dangerous weapon. 

Shea said the MPD would not be releasing details on the gun used in the incident.

The suspects allegedly stole only liquor during the robbery, taking no money from the clerk, said Shea. The clerk was unharmed during the incident. 

Moore was the suspect held on bail, said the MetroWest Daily News.
