Pill Problems, Officer Assault and Screeching Tires

Marlborough police were busy with calls this week while the issue of prescription drugs was explored.

The police had their hands full this week with calls, but a detective took the time to talk with the Marlborough Patch about the issue of prescription drug abuse in the city.

The issue spans different generations throughout the city, explained Marlborough Police Detective David Giorgi. Every community deals with the issue of drugs, and Marlborough is no different, he said.

A traffic stop this week turned into an assault on a police officer when a man reportedly became argumentative. What could have been a simple ticket turned into a serious charge.

A Marlborough woman drew attention to herself in Sudbury due to screeching tires. The stop resulted in her third OUI even after she reportedly explained to officers she was trying out the new tires on her SUV.
