Overturned Car Closes Sherman Street to Traffic

A car accident has closed Sherman Street as utility crews make repairs.

A single car accident has closed Sherman Street.
“She hit a pole, snapped the pole and the car flipped over," said Deputy Fire Chief Ron Ayotte of the accident that occurred at approximately 5 p.m. Thursday night.
The woman, in her late 20's or early 30's, was left upside down in her Ford Fusion held up by her seatbelt, he said.
“She was alert and conscious when we got there," said Ayotte who said the woman was transported to Marlborough Hospital for evaluation.
The narrow, one-way street between Farm and Framinham Roads will be closed down for a number of hours as utility crews clear the pole and wires, he said.
“Sherman Street is going to be closed down for a while," said Ayotte at approximately a little before 6 p.m. "National grid has two trucks there ready to replace the pole."
The repairs could be made within four to five hours, but definitely by morning, he said.
