May 17: Marlborough's Headlines 100 years ago

Six days a weeks (Mon—Sat) Marlborough Patch will highlight an interesting story from the Marlborough Daily Enterprise published on that date 100 years ago.

For the first entry we will publish items from both May 16 and 17, 1911, because the former post is too interesting to leave out.

It was reported Monday that the schools were to be closed on account of the epidemic. This is denied by Supt. Morton who says "I do not anticipate closing the schools. We are excluding children from the schools as fast as they have sore throats. I think that will be sufficient."
