Natural Gas Leak in Hayes Memorial Drive Area

The source of the outdoor leak has not been located.

A natural gas leak is being investigated by NStar in the general area of Hayes Memorial Drive, according to the Marlborough Fire Department.

As of 9:30 a.m., the source had not been located, said Marlborough Fire Department Lt. Brian Gould. It is an outdoor leak, he said, in that the odor is detectable across a wide area.

The fire department received multiple 911 calls from people at businesses in the Northborough Road and Hayes Memorial Drive area earlier Tuesday morning, beginning about 8:10 a.m. according to a scanner report. NStar has deployed several of its units to the area, and is trying to find the source of the leak.

The Northborough Fire Department also responded, as the area borders that town, and it could be that the leak is located there, Gould said.
