Marlborough Woman Succumbs to Injuries After Motor Vehicle Crash

A 91-year-old resident has died after sustaining serious injuries in a Dec. 27 crash in Sudbury.

The Sudbury Police Department announced Monday that a 91-year-old Marlborough woman has died just days after sustaining serious injuries in a motor vehicle crash.

Stella Mercuri, of 168 Mill St., Marlborough, was a passenger in a car involved in a a . She died Saturday, Dec. 31 shortly after noon, said the office of the Medical Examiner. 

The accident remains under investigation by the Sudbury Police Department, the Massachusetts State Police Reconstruction Unit as well as the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, said a release.

The operator of the vehicle in which Mercuri was traveling in, Wendy Courtney, 39, also of 168 Mill St., has been released from the hospital.

The operator of the other vehicle involved, Scott Swanton, 40, of 331 Blucher St., Manchester, NH, was driving a commercial vehicle and did not sustain any physical injuries.
