Marlborough Road Closures Monday

The annual Veterans Day Parade will result in several road closures Monday morning.

Marlborough will hold its annual Veterans Day Parade on Monday, beginning at 10 a.m. and lasting about an hour.

Several roads will be blocked off and traffic affected. The following note was published Friday afternoon by the city of Marlborough:

"Maple St. will be closed in front of the American Legion on Monday morning, Nov. 11th while people assemble for our Annual Veteran’s Day parade. The area in front of the Legion between Shawmut Ave. and Greendale Ave. will be blocked off because this area and the parking lot of the Legion will be the new staging area for the Veteran’s Day and Memorial Day parades.

Shawmut and Greendale Avenues, will still be open to vehicular traffic. The only area closed is the area directly in front of the Legion, so traffic will not be able to pass through that part of Maple St. Traffic can travel up Greendale Ave. to Church St. to Shawmut Ave. to go around the detoured area on Maple St.

We anticipate the area to be closed from approximately 9am to just after the start of the parade at 10am.

Thank you for your cooperation. And, most especially, thank you to all our Veterans ... past, present, and future for their bravery, service and sacrifice!"
