Marlborough Police Seize 256 Grams of Cocaine Sent Through FedEx

A cocaine shipment sent through FedEx resulted in two arrests Wednesday.

Marlborough police arrested two residents after they reportedly received a FedEx shipment of cocaine from Puerto Rico.

"Two plastic bags each tested positive for cocaine and contained a combination weight 256 grams of cocaine," said Marlborough Police Detective Scott DeCiero.

Police had been told by the Boston Police Drug Task Force and the Drug Enforcement Administration that a FedEx shipment containing illegal narcotics was being sent from Puerto Rico to Marlborough, he said. Marlborough police and members of the Boston task force set up surveillance at the 11 Kirby Street house Wednesday shortly after 10 a.m. waiting for the package to be delivered, according to DeCiero.

After the FedEx truck arrived and Vidal Cardona, 35, of 23 Kirby Street Apt. 1 and Michael C. Wing, 28, of 11 Kirby Street took possession of the package, police moved in and arrested the two, said DeCiero. The contents of the package tested positive for cocaine, he said.

Both were arrested at the scene and charged with trafficking in 200 or more grams of cocaine and conspiracy, according to police records. Cardona was also charged with a subsequent offense of class B drug possession.
