Marlborough Man in Hot Water After Spray Painting Spree
A 28-year-old Marlborough man is in police custody, only a few months after being arrested for peppering a Church St. house with BB gun pellets.
The Marlborough Police Department placed a local man in custody Thursday morning after determining that he is likely responsible for a late-April spray painting spree of gang symbols around the City.
Zachary S. Lodi, 28, of 100 Church St., was arrested at after being interviewed on suspicion of the painting tear that left more than a half-dozen local business and buildings marked with various gang symbols in black spray paint. He has been charged with seven counts of tagging property.
Lodi was after police determined that he and an accomplice were responsible for shooting up a Church St. home with a BB gun.

"His name came up as a suspect during the course of our investigation, and he was placed under arrest after he came in for an interview on Thursday morning," said Detective Scott Deciero of the MPD.
The symbols were painted on a variety of buildings including the police substation on Broad St., the on Granger Blvd., 373 Lincoln St., , 406 Lincoln, the , and the .

The images and words painted on the walls are representative of random gang slogans and symbols, said Deciero, though he believes the Lodi has no actual ties to gangs or gang activity.
"This appears to be a completely random act, and I don't believe Marlborough to have any real gang activity," he said.
Several of the tags made reference to well-known Chicago gangs such as the Gangster Disciples and Folk Nation.
Lodi was transported to Marlborough District Court Thursday afternoon for arraignment.
