Marlborough Man, 28, Charged with Assault and Battery on Officer, Resisting Arrest

The incident began with an argument between boyfriend and girlfriend.

A 28-year-old man was arraigned Thursday at Marlborough District Court on charges relating to shoving a police officer, then resisting arrest.

Alexie Soto Villanueva, 28, of 22 Ringold St., Apt. 2, Marlborough, was arrested late Wednesday and charged with assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest and three default warrants for prior offenses.

According to a statement filed by Officer Soren Levenson, police responded about 7:40 p.m. Wednesday to a reported disturbance between a man and a woman at the Heights of Marlborough Apartments on Briarwood Lane.

On arrival, officers found a man and a woman — Soto Villanueva and his girlfriend — screaming at each other in the parking lot. In attempting to separate the two, Levenson reported he was pushed by Soto Villanueva.

The officer put him in handcuffs, then took him back to the police station for booking. Soto Villanueva screamed obscenities at police and his girlfriend, refused to sit still for his mug shot and refused to sign legal forms. He also could not be finger-printed, according to police.

Police also arrested his girlfriend, Jeanette Rivera, 24, of 29 Briarwood Lane, Marlborough, on charges of assault and battery, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. She was released on personal recognizance Thursday and voluntarily agreed to seek treatment.

Soto Villanueva is next scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 27.
