Mansfield Selectmen Say Goodbye to "No Chance" Lance Lawson

Mansfield Police Officer Lance Lawson retires in Mansfield.

The Mansfield Board of Selectmen recognized the retirement of officer Lance Lawson.

Affectionately nicknamed “No Chance” Lance, selectmen said he was a valuable asset to the department for decades.

“Lance was very well-versed on traffic and he gave us a lot of good advice at the time,” said selectman George Dentino. “He spent a great number of years adding the [traffic] tickets."

Selectmen agreed Lawson’s contributions extended beyond an officer’s call of duty and really set himself apart in his knowledge for the town.

“Lance was a great asset to the planning board too,” said selectman Doug Annino.

My congratulation to Officer Lawson on a job very well done in his many years of faithful service to the town of Mansfield and its citizens. It was always a pleasure to assist him in his duties of many inspecting the commercial vehicles that came through town to his speed enforcement duties in town. Will be very difficult to fill his "boots" in town with his great knowledge . Enjoy your Retirement Lance* Bobby E Earls

Many know Lance from his "sting" but he was a whole lot more to Mansfield than tickets and will be missed. He is a hard working man who did many things in his role as Traffic Officer that did not include tickets that benefited Mansfield over the years.
