Man Hits Parked Car in Front of Police; Charged with OUI

A Marlborough man reportedly admitted to drinking five beers and driving.

Police arrested a man for driving under the influence after he struck a parked car in the parking lot of the Brook Village East apartments.

Police pulled over the vehicle Monday morning at 2 a.m. after seeing the accident take place in the parking lot, according to a police report. The driver — identified as Valerio Hernandez-Menchu, 32, of 319 East Main Street Apt. G4 — was arrested following observations, field sobriety tests and his admission to drinking at least five 16 ounce budweiser beers, according to court documents.

He was charged with operating under the influence of liquor, leaving the scene of property damage and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

He was released on personal recognizance following a court appearance.
