Man Hit on Highway, Woman Allegedly Gives Child Heroin and Break-ins

Police and Fire personnel were busy in the wake of the Blizzard of '13.

Governor Deval Patrick's travel ban kept issues to a minimum during the 2013 Blizzard, but this week was busy for police officials.

The major police issue this week was a report that a number of daytime robberies have been occuring. Police clarified that robbers have been targeting small items. Police Chief Mark Leonard has listed ways to keep the neighborhood and your home safe.

A Northborough man was struck on Route 290 this week. He was expected to survive.

Earlier in the week, a woman had allegedly given a 10 year-old a purse containing heroin.

Police in the city will be equipped with another tool, as the use of 10 Tasers has come on line. It took time for training and policy to catch up with the purchase of the equipment.
