Man Accused of Targeting Target Twice

A Clinton man is charged with armed robbery of a Westborough Target; Marlborough police arrested him earlier this month on larceny charges from Marlborough's Target.

A man accused of stealing from Target in Marlborough this month has been arrested again, this time by Westborough police in connection with an armed robbery in their town.

According to Chief Alan Gordon, Jason Hancock, 39, of 352 Main St., #7, in Clinton was arrested Saturday and charged in connection with a .

Detectives from the Westborough Police Department made the arrest after an investigation that evolved when Hancock was arrested by for a June 16 larceny of Target in Marlborough. Hancock was charged with armed assault with intent to rob and also larceny of $250 for a television he allegedly stole from the same store on June 14.

The Westborough robbery attempt happened shortly before noon on June 5 when a man approached an employee at the service desk and brandished a handgun.

“He pointed a black handgun at the clerk demanding she open the drawer. The clerk told the suspect she couldn’t open the drawer at which time the suspect ran from the store and entered a dark colored sedan which was in the parking lot,” Gordon said.

They were taken from surveillance tape and include a view of the suspect going into the store, the suspect showing a gun to the Target employee and a dark sedan believed to be driven by the suspect.

Bail was set at $300. Hancock is scheduled to appear at today.
