Fire Extinguished at AMG Studios on Main Street

Marlborough firefighters on Sunday night extinguished a blaze that damaged AMG Studios, 32 Main St. No one was injured.

Firefighters responded Sunday night to a report of a fire at the AMG studios, 32 Main St. On arrival, shortly before 7 p.m., firefighters found smoke coming from the rear of the building and found the fire burning in the rear exterior wall.

Fire crews opened up the wall with a chain saw and the fire was quickly extinguished, according to the statement, by Deputy Chief Ron Ayotte. The fire was contained to the area of origin, and residents were allowed to return once the building’s fire alarm system was restored and the scene was determined to be safe.

The building has 11 single room residences on the upper floors and three commercial spaces on the first floor.

The cause of the fire has not been determined and is under investigation by the Marlborough Fire Department’s Fire Investigation Unit and the State Fire Marshal.
