Headbutt, Police Chase and Condo Fire

Police and fire personnel responded to multiple calls this week.

The Marlborough Police and Fire Departments responded to multiple calls this week, with a fire and an incident that left one police officer injured.

The fire department responded in force to a balcony fire at the Marlborough Court Condominiums Wednesday night. The fire was able to be contained to the balcony of one unit, although that condo unit had to be evacuated due to smoke and water damage. The cause of the fire was under investigation.

A man wanted on a warrant for not registering as a sex offender resisted arrest last weekend. As he was being walked out to a police car, he smashed his own head into a glass door and then headbutted a police officer in the face before being subdued with pepper spray. The officer who was headbutted was injured with reported broken bones.
