Framingham Man Faces Attempted Murder Charge

Police say he stabbed his victim with a vegetable peeler and also assaulted an elderly witness to the crime.

A Framingham man faces attempted murder and other charges in connection with a domestic disturbance Sunday night.

Police arrested Eric J. Linehan, 22, of 30 Wilson Ave., Framingham, at 8:49 p.m. after responding to a reported domestic disturbance at 121 Pleasant St.

Linehan faces charges of attempted murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, witness intimidation, impeding an investigation and permitting serious injury to an elderly or disabled person.

According to Det. Scott Deciero, Linehan attempted to strangle his victim, head butted her and stabbed her with a vegetable peeler.

When the victim--whom police did not identify because the case began as a domestic incident--attempted to call police for help, Linehan allegedly took the phone from her.

When a witness to the assault attempted to intervene, Linehan allegedly pushed that person through a privacy screen and onto the floor, which led to the witness intimidation charge.

Linehan was scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Marlborough District Court.
