UPDATE: Former Marlborough Legislator Arrested in Alleged Girlfriend Assault

Steven Levy was arrested on assault and battery charges in Framingham over the weekend.

Update: The Telegram and Gazette is reporting that former State Rep. Steven Levy was arrested on assault charges after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend in Framingham over the weekend.

According to the report, an altercation occured outside of the Chicken Bone in Framingham when the married Levy was reportedly "kissing intimately" a woman in the parking lot, according to the Telegram's report. In the ensuing argument and physical altercation, Levy reportedly shook the woman violently and caused her to fall to the ground, reports the Telegram.

Framingham police arrested former Marlborough City Councilor and state Rep. Steven Levy early Saturday morning.

Steven Levy, 48, of 61 O'Grady Rd. in Marlborough was arrested Saturday morning at 5:15 a.m. on charges of domestic assault and battery at the Framingham Police Station, according to police.

The incident occured in the parking lot of the Chicken Bone in Framingham, according to police. Levy came to the police station to be booked at the request of Framingham Police, said Framingham Police Lt. Ronald Brandolini.

Levy's wife stated on Tuesday that he was not speaking to the press about the incident.

Levy lost his bid for re-election to Danielle Gregoire last year. Before serving as the state representative for the 4th Middlesex District he served three terms as a Marlborough city councilor from 2006 to 2011, according to his website.
