Firefighters Respond to Condo Fire

No one was hurt in the fire at Princeton Green condominiums Tuesday night.

Marlborough Firefighters responded to a reported structure fire at the Princeton Green apartment complex Tuesday night, where they found a kitchen blaze had already been extinguished by residents.

A fire was reported at the Farm Rd. complex just before 10 p.m. Police and fire crews arrived a short time later, including engines 1 and 4, Rescue 1, Tower Ladder 1 and Car 2 from the fire department, according to Deputy Chief Ron Ayotte.

The first firefighters on scene found "a heavy smoke condition from one of the apartments in the building and that the fire appeared to have been extinguished by the residents," Ayotte said in a press release.

Marlborough Fire personnel checked the area of origin and the adjacent areas to ensure that the fire was extinguished and did not spread to other areas.

The smoke was vented from the building and all units were returned to service.
