Update: Firefighters Extinguish Fire at Strange Brew

Marlborough firefighters extinguished an electrical fire today at Strange Brew.

Update: The call was made at 1:36 for a smoke condition inside of Strange Brew

Fire crews extinguished the fire and checked the area for hidden fire, according to a press release from the department. Due to possible exposure to food in the restaurant next door and the grains used for home brewing at Strange Brew, the Board of Health was called along with the Code Enforcement and the Building Department.

The fire is being investigated by the Department’s Fire Investigation Unit. A damage estimate was unavailable at the time the release was issued.

The initial call was for a fire on the exterior of a commercial building at the Indian Head Shopping Center on Boston Post Road East. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire, which was described by employees of the store as an electrical fire and limited to one part of the store.

Fire and city inspection officials were on the scene at 3 p.m. We will update this story as more information becomes available.
