Fire Drives Couple From Home

A midnight fire caused more than $30,000 in damage Monday morning.

Fire shortly after midnight drove a couple from their 11 Brigham Avenue home Monday morning.
“There was some struct damage from the fire as well as some smoke and water damage," said Deputy Fire Chief Fred Flynn. "The Red Cross did take care of the people for housing for the time being.”
The fire broke out in the basement from an electrical cause at 12:16 a.m. The one alarm fire was responded to by four Marlborough fire units.
No one, firefighter or civilian, was injured in the fire, said Flynn. The damage from the fire will likely top an early $30,000 estimate, he said.
All units were cleared by 3:54 a.m.
