Fire, A Flipped Car, Gun-Point Robbery and Cocaine

Police and fire personnel have been busy in the past week dealing with a wide array of calls.

The Marlborough Police and Fire departments were busy this past week with a fire that impacted traffic, an armed robbery and a cocaine seizure.
An armed robber was held on $50,000 bail after allegedly robbing two stores. He was out on bail for a previous armed robbery charge in which he allegedly used a sawed-off shotgun.
Fire officials dealt with two calls on what is likely to be one of the hottest days of the year on Thursday. Firefighters cut into floor to get at a Marlborough house fire after residents saw smoke. Later that day, just before the commuting rush, an overturned car closed Sherman Street as utility crews made repairs.
Police also seized crack cocaine and arrested two people during a search of a Marlborough apartment.
Arrests were also made of three people in a shoplifting scheme to use stolen goods to get drugs.
