Fight ends in Assault Charges, Tasing for a Marlborough Man

Milford Police used Tasers on two people outside the Turtle Tavern early Saturday, after officers said the men moved aggressively toward them after officers broke up a fight.  

The two men both face misdemeanor assault and disorderly conduct charges.

Alexis R. Carmona, 34, of 27 Beach St., Apt. 1, Marlborough, was arraigned Monday on charges of assault and disorderly conduct after he turned on officer Jeanne Van Patten-Steiger, according to court records. She fully deployed a Taser and then administered another 2 second charge after he refused to comply with an order to put his hands behind his back.

Ramon A. Perez, 23, of 59 Exchange St., Milford, was arraigned on charges of assault and disorderly conduct, after he charged at officer Paul Pinto and attempted to fight. The officer deployed his Taser after he reported Perez aggressively approached, then "threw his arms up in an attempt to entice a fight."

Neither Carmona nor Perez was injured. As is procedure, they were evaluated by EMTS after being hit with the Taser probes.

At arraignment Monday in Milford District Court, Judge David Locke released them on personal recognizance. Carmona and Perez will next return to court on Aug. 5 for a pretrial conference.

According to the court documents filed by police, the fight began when a third man, Ryan Truitt, became angry after Perez danced with his girlfriend. He told police he initiatiated the fight outside the bar.

Milford police are seeking a court summons to charge Truitt, 27, of 107 Lovering St., Medway, with assault and battery, according to the police log.

At 1:45 a.m. Saturday, the first responding officer asked for help with a fight outside the bar. When Pinto arrived soon after, he said several dozen people were outside the bar on the sidewalk, yelling, according to his report.

The men were tased by police after they refused to walk away from the scene and approached officers instead, the reports state.
