FBI: Suspect in Hepatitis Outbreak Found in Marlborough Hotel

An FBI agent said cops found the man intoxicated in a local hotel room and may have been planning to harm himself.

David Matthew Kwiatkowski,, was found intoxicated in a Marlborough hotel room by local police last week, according to an FBI affidavit.

The affidavit says that Marlborough police found Kwiatkowski "at a hotel room in an intoxicated state" on July 13.

"He was transported to a medical facility and an officer has advised me that, based upon Kwiatkowski's condition, he believed that Kwiatkowski may have been attempting to harm himself," the affidavit from FBI Special Agent Marcie DiFede states.

Kwiatkowski was taken in to custody on Thursday and has been charged with obtaining controlled drugs by fraud and tampering with a consumer product.

It is not clear why he was in Marlborough. Authorities say he is originally from Michigan and does not have a current fixed address.

Keith, I'm not sure why there is a picture of the Marlborough Hospital sign next to this article, if he was found at a hotel. It's confusing. I had a slight feeling of panic when I first saw the title of the article & the picture next to ir. For a second I thought the article was about the guy working at the hospital.

Hi, thanks for your comment - understood. We've removed the hospital picture and replaced it with a mugshot of the suspect.

Why was the hotel not mentioned? I live in NH now and was at Exeter Hospital for 4 hours on Wednesday. Naming the hospital where some of this took place, did not seem to deter anyone from going there. Just wondering.
