Emergency Drill at Marlborough Hospital Wednesday

The hospital will be open during an emergency preparedness drill Wednesday.

Prepare for extra sirens and emergency personnel at the Marlborough Hospital Wednesday during an emergency preparedness exercise in with the Marlborough Police Department and a number of local and state public safety and emergency preparedness agencies.

“We are very fortunate to have such willing community partners to help us practice our emergency preparedness,” said Mayor Arthur Vigeant. “Sadly, recent events have proven that you cannot practice enough. We look forward to improving our readiness and appreciate the opportunity to better serve our community. I want to thank our residents in advance for their cooperation and understanding.”

The purpose of the exercise is to test the readiness, response and recovery plans of each participating organization as well as working in a unified command structure. The exercise will create an elevated amount of noise and activity on and near the hospital grounds for the duration of the exercise. This activity will include emergency response vehicles with sirens and lights as well as law enforcement personnel in full tactical response gear.
