UPDATE: Suspect Held Without Bail in Park Street Attempted Murder

Both men arrested are still in police custody after an arraignment in Marlborough District Court on Thursday.

Oct. 21, 12:30 p.m.: Both individuals arrested in the raucous disturbance on Park Street early Thursday morning are still in police custody, say records. One man is being held without bail on multiple assault and attempted murder charges, while a second man has been charged with being an accessory and on firearm charges. 

Rhomal Yuvini Silva, 25, of 44 Park St., Apt. 402, is being held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing that is to be Wednesday, Oct. 26. 

Jesus A. Silva, 21, of 44 Park St., Apt. 402, is also in police custody as of Friday afternoon, and is being held on $10,000 cash or $100,000 bond. He will face accessory before the fact and gun charges when he returns to court Friday, Nov. 18.

Early Thursday the responded to a disturbance call at 44 Park St. where assault with a knife and gunfire was reported.

Upon arrival at the address officers spoke with the victims, witnesses and the suspects, and arrested Rhomal Yuvini Silva, 25, of 44 Park St., Apt. 402, on multiple firearm and attempted murder charges. 

Also in police custody is Jesus A. Silva, 21, of 44 Park St., Apt. 402, the owner of the unlicensed firearm that was used in the incident. 

"It was determined a disturbance had taken place where as the suspect, Silva had a knife which he assaulted several victims with," said a release from the MPD. "The victims then fled the common area into an apartment. The suspect then unlawfully entered the apartment where two of the victims were located. At this time the suspect (Silva) brandished a firearm and fired at the victims."

Police went on to say that neither victim was shot, but one individual was injured after jumping off a porch while trying to escape the gunfire. The victim is being treated for injuries at UMass Worcester. 

Yuvini was charged with two counts of attempted murder, firearm-armed home invasion, carrying a firearm without a license, 1st and subsequent offense possession of a firearm/ammunition without an FID license, three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building.

Silva was charged with carrying a firearm without a license and 1st and subsequent offense possession of a firearm/ammunition without an FID license. 

Marlborough police have also consulted ICE in reference to an additional investigation attached to these suspects.

The suspects are expected to appear in sometime Thursday. Check back with Marlborough Patch later Thursday for an updated story on the disposition of the Court in this matter.
