Court Files: Sears Scammer Out on $300 Bail

An attempted murder suspect heads back to court, and a purse snatching suspect is out on bail.

On Monday, Dec. 5 Melissa A. Martin, 29, of 5 Gay St., Apt. 1, appeared in to face charges that she had stolen a purse from a 62-year-old woman then assaulted her. See the . Martin was released on $200 cash bail and was ordered to return to court Wednesday, Dec. 21 for a pre-trial hearing. Due to the suspect's violent history, a protective order was issued for the case, said court records. 

In a related appearance, Patrick M. Ryan, 40, of 12 Coburn, Framingham, was arrested during the same incident Sunday, Dec. 4 after he aided the escape of Martin by holding the victim's shoulders when she tried to pursue Martin. Ryan was released on $200 cash bail and a protective order was issued in his case as well. He is scheduled to reappear for a pre-trial hearing Wednesday, Dec. 21.

Deborah Esposito, 32, of 1830 Main St., Apt. 42, North Tewksbury, was arrested early Monday evening after allegedly attempting to perpetrate a fraud on a resident of Marlborough. Esposito was allegedly the point person in an ongoing scam that promises targets large ticket items (such as televisions) at drastically reduced prices. Esposito and other scammers posed as employees of located at the Solomon Pond Mall, then would meet individuals outside the store, take cash, then leave the targets waiting for merchandise that would never come. The intented target recognized the scheme and called police into the situation before the designated meeting time. Esposito was arrested and charged with attempting to commit a crime, conspiracy, forgery of a document and impeding an investigation through witness intimidation. After appearing before a judge Wednesday, Dec. 7, she was released on $300 bail. She was assigned a court appointed attorney Friday, Dec. 9 and will return to court Feb. 6, 2012 for a pretrial hearing.

Rhomal Yuvini Silva, 25, of 44 Park St., Apt. 402,  on the morning of Thursday, Oct. 20 on multiple counts of attempted murder and Assault. He appeared for arraignment in Marlborough District Court Thursday, Oct. 20, and was held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing which was held Wednesday, Oct. 26. After the hearing, the suspect remained in state custody without bail, said court records. He returned to Marlborough District Court Friday, Nov. 18 for a pretrial hearing and will return once again for a status review Friday, Dec. 16.
