Attempted Murder in Marlborough

A man allegedly choked a person into unconsciousness and threatened them with a BB gun.

Marlborough police arrested David J. McGuire Jr. Sunday after he allegedly choked a victim into unconsciousness and threatened them with a BB gun.

"David brandished a gun (BB) from a bureau drawer and chambered back the slide," wrote Officer Victor Linnell in a police report. "At this point [the victim] was in fear for her life not knowing the weapon was just a BB gun."

McGuire, 36, of 5 Mohican Path had strangled the victim until she went unconscious prior to brandishing the gun, according to court documents. When she woke up he produced the gun he stated he would kill the woman and her daughter, according to the police report.

McGuire has been held without bail on charges of attempted murder, assault with a dangerous weapon and two charges of threatening to commit a crime. He is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.

You should really get your facts straight before reporting on them!!! At least the article in the Metrowest Daily Newspaper is closer to the facts then this article. Hopefully, anyone with intelligence will know enough (1) not to believe everything that is printed & (2) know there are always 2 sides to a story. FACT - Anyone who knows Dave, knows he would never threaten to kill anyone especially a child and would never hit a woman intentionally. FACT - The police never even questioned or investigated the incident, they just arrested Dave based on her "story". FACT - He was the one that was beaten bloody and is the abused not the abuser (Yes folks, men get abused by woman). FACT -He was released on bail until Thursday. FACT - The picture with the article isn't even of Dave. Try reporting more facts next time and when the truth comes out, hopefully, you'll report that too.

It got out of hand because he was drunk - FACT! He would and did put his hands on a women that night and prior - FACT! He did choke the victim into unconsciousness and threatened her with a BB gun - FACT! Yes, there is always two sides to every story... but YOU should really get YOUR facts straight because you weren't there and obviously have no clue what he is like when he is highly intoxicated. Alcohol changes people, he should get some rehab!

If there is such thing as justice, the facts will be in his favor and the truth on his side. He is INNOCENT and he'll be better off away from her where he can get help for the abuse that he received.

Perhaps you should follow up on a story once and awhile. In reference to the above story indicating only accusations and many which had several inaccuracies; (Example: Bail was posted on Sunday and David Jr was never held without bail!!!), today, 3/18/13, all of the charges were dropped and the case dismissed based on the fact the accuser recanted all of the accusations due to being unable to recollect/recall the incidents of that night because of being under the influence of alcohol. Its a shame a that a young man's reputation is tarnished in the newspaper based on false accusations, yet when they are found not to be true that never gets followed up on or published in the paper. David J. McGuire, Sr.
