Attempted Murder and Officer Assaulted

Police responded to a number of disturbance calls in the last week, but one ended in charges of attempted murder after a man allegedly tried to smother a woman.

Police responded to an early morning disturbance where a woman after they got into an argument. Rivera-Espinales was arrested on attempted murder and other charges.

That same weekend, on Friday night, a Vermont man allegedly injured a police officer after he kicked him and then elbowed him in the chest. The man, James Francis Sadlier Jr., 22, of 22 Forbes Rd. Apt. 38 in Milton Vermont, was reportedly drunk and attempting to fight other patrons when he was arrested on multiple charges.

Another officer was reported injured this week, while a complaint of suspicious activity at the rail trail was filed.
