Alleged Would-Be Burglar Falls Out Of Window

A woman was caught by police Wednesday morning after failing to climb through a window into an apartment.

A woman allegedly attempting to break in to a Pearl Street home Wednesday morning instead fell out of a window and hid in a van until she was found by police.

"In an attempt to gain access to the apartment, she was able to put one leg into the open window and across the threshold," wrote Marlborough Police Officer Brian Cox. "She did fall from the window a short time later."

After midnight, Danielle A. Barry, 27, of 75 Prospect Street had reportedly rang a door bell and knocked on the window of a Pearl Street home — waking people inside — before ripping the screen to the window off the kitchen and attempting to enter through the window, according to court documents. According to police, after she fell out of the window she broke into an unlocked van where she was found by police.
